High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is a serious health risk that must be treated in the care of a physician.   High blood pressure places a serious burden on the entire vascular system. Green tea catechins have shown promise in treating high blood pressure by impeding the action of the enzymes known to constrict blood vessels.  This constriction as well as additional burdens from high cholesterol, cause blood pressure to soar out of control.  Increasing the risk of heart disease.  One of the leading causes of high blood pressure is due to the build up of plaque on artery walls. As this harmful plaque builds up, blood supply must be squeezed through a narrower opening.  This can greatly reduce the amount of blood flow to vital organs.  Decreased blood flow is directly related to how much oxygen the blood stream can supply to vital organs.  Lack of oxygen to the brain and heart can lead to serious illness and eventually death if not treated.  Drinking green tea during or immediately after meals has been shown to preventing cholesterol from attaching to artery walls making it good preventative medicine in the treatment of high blood pressure.
